The Old Low Light Heritage Centre will restart indoor events this month.

The first event, a talk by Michael Coates about Sir James Knott, will be on 25 September 2021 at 11am and seats can be booked here.

Trustees agreed that the top floor could once again be used for talks and performances for a limited audience, allowing for some distance between seats. This decision was taken after collecting and considering feedback from a recent survey, and in line with Government advice.

The top floor gallery will be able to seat 30 members of the public per event.
The most recent survey we conducted suggested 70% of respondents planned to attend a talk with one other person, and 20% by themselves (the remaining 10% were not sure). We have therefore structured our seating for events around this feedback.

There are 20 seats side by side, for people attending with one other person and 10 single seats, with one extra seat for a volunteer. The layout of the room can be seen below. (Row A is the front row, nearest the speaker. Row G is the backrow, against the yellow wall).

Seats are approximately 1metre apart to maintain reasonable distancing, and easy access into and out of the space. Ventilation will also be maintained throughout performances by opening some windows.

Booking tickets for the event must be done online via The Old Low Light website.

For most events, payment may also be taken online. For any event where members’ places are free (talks for example) payment will be taken at the welcome desk on arrival at Old Low Light. Members will be admitted on presentation of a valid membership card.
