Come to one of our talks about the history, heritage or natural environment of North Shields, or join one of our guided walks. We have musical events to suit all tastes from live sessions by local musicians to classical concerts. Or come to community lead yoga or meditation classes.
Our staff and volunteers look forward to welcoming you. Sit inside or when the weather is good, take a seat on our lovely outdoor terrace. Taste our delicious hot drinks supplied locally by Tynemouth Coffee and sample one of our famous toasties, scones, or cakes. Enjoy regular live music sessions.
Our shop is stocked by local and artisans and authors. We have lots to choose from, including paintings or prints of local scenes, books about the history and heritage of North Shields and smaller gifts such as cards and mugs. 20 percent of all sales go to Old Low Light.
We are very much part of the local community. Our volunteers and many of our regular customers to the café and visitors to the gallery are from the local area. Local groups also use our building for their meetings and for social occasions. We also sell local produce wherever possible.
