To celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, the Old Low Light has a series of special activities taking place. These have been funded by the Sir James Knott Trust.
Volunteers have decorated the Old Low Light with bunting and flags.
Volunteers have put together a little book 70 Fascinating Facts about Her Majesty’s Life and Reign’.
Portraits of the Queen are on display in the building, and we have reason to believe a life size representation of Her Majesty will be paying us a visit also.
From June 1 to June 4 the café will have a special Jubilee menu to get you into the spirit of things.
Alongside all of this we have our ‘Folk Who Shaped Shields’ exhibition, our display ‘Deeds Not Words’ featuring Norah Balls and a four-day pop-up art exhibition ‘Things Seen’. We are also taking some of our volunteers on special visits to Trinity House.
