Gyotaku Fish Printing Workshop (10am-12 noon)

Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice which dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of nature printing was used by fishermen to record their catches, but has also become an art form of its own

Allan Barnfather has a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree and a certificate in Understanding Autism. He has many years’ experience working in the arts and has exhibited his work around the UK and abroad.

Allan would describe himself as an interdisciplinary artist specialising in print making. He is a member of Northern Print where he exhibits and demonstrates printmaking techniques.

Allan Barnfather will be delivering a Gyotaku Fish Printing Workshop at the Old Low Light Heritage Centre, in partnership with Northern Print.
