Old Low Light volunteer, Mike Scott will talk about the history of Christ Church, North Shields which has served the town for over 350 years.
Mike will give his talk on Saturday 8 October at 11am at the Old Low Light Heritage Centre, North Shields. Admission is £4pp (members free).
He will describe how it was built during troubled times as a replacement for the parish church of St Mary at Tynemouth and how a growing congregation led to the building being enlarged eight times.
He will tell of colourful characters and clergy and describe some of the ancient documents held by the church.
