Classic car enthusiasts, gardeners and people with an interest in local history should pay a visit to North Shields Fish Quay next Sunday (22 May 2022).

The Old Low Light will be closed on Tuesday 17th of May, so that staff and volunteers can attend the funeral our recently deceased team.

We will be open again Wednesday, 10am to 3pm.

A local historian is to give a talk later this month about a prominent local businessman John Foster Spence, who became known as the ‘Grand Old Man of Shields’.

We are very proud that our chair, David W Bavaird, is the new High Sheriff for Tyne & Wear.

A shoal of herring knitted in a ‘lockdown spirit’ for an exhibition at the Old Low Light Heritage Centre, North Shields Fish Quay is being sold to raise much needed funds.

The Old Light Heritage Centre on North Shields Fish Quay has received emergency financial support of up to £33,300 from the Cultural Recovery Fund for Heritage.
