Big Thank-you to our Volunteers at North Shields 800 Community Day, Linskill Centre

Between us we projected positive messages about what we have to offer at the heritage centre, including the variety of things we do.

You made visitors feel welcome and were on hand to talk to them about our events programme, membership scheme, volunteering opportunities, education offer, previous exhibitions, and the history of the building and surrounding area with an archeological finds table manned by trustee John Nolan.

We were also really pleased to have with us textile artist Gaynor Devaney with her plans for a capriccio map of North Shields and David Hirst with a selection of paintings of local scenes.

By volunteering to help, you made it possible for us to be part of this Community Day, which aimed to promote the history, heritage, and culture of North Shields, through local organisations working in partnership.

There has been amazing feedback about the overall event with one woman posting on social media that she had ‘never been more proud’ to come from North Shields and commenting on how impressed she was at the turn-out and quality of events available.

So, thank-you again for giving your time so freely to be there with us. We know we ask a lot from you, but we are so grateful for your support.
