As part of the Old Low Light’s plans to mark International Women’s Day 2025, local author Pat Stevens will lead this walking tour celebrating the lives of four remarkable women who made significant contributions during the 19th and 20th centuries. Each lived in Tynemouth at different times in their lives and commemorative plaques were later installed on their homes.
Along the way, she will also point out other aspects of the village’s history.
Pat, a relative newcomer to Tynemouth and one of our regular speakers, will explain how shortly after moving into her new home she realised she was living very close to women whose lifetime achievements had been honoured with wall plaques.
The walk will start at outside the Church of the Holy Saviour, Broadway.
