Anna Dias – Soprano

 Anna Dias

Anna, who is about to audition for postgraduate study at the Conservatoire de Paris, the renowned college of music and dance, completed her undergraduate studies at Newcastle University, achieving a first class degree and is now working in Barnard Castle as a music teacher.

While at Newcastle, Anna was greatly involved in music opportunities, singing with the Newcastle University Chamber Choir and conducting the choir in her second year. She was also cast as the role of Dido in the university’s production of Dido and Aeneas.

Anna has had solo engagements, including Handel’s Dixit Dominus (Newcastle Bach Choir), Messiah (Bishopwearmouth Choral Society) and Bach’s Magnificent (Durham Singers). As a member of the prestigious Samling Academy, she has participated masterclasses and performed as a soloist in their annual concerts at the Glasshouse, Gateshead.

For six years, she has been a member of the National Youth Choir and National Youth Chamber Choir, performing at the BBC Proms and Carols at the Royal Albert Hall.

David Murray

David has been recognised as one of the North East’s most acclaimed pianists, and is in constant demand as a soloist, accompanist and chamber music partner. He has accompanied top musicians in recitals all over the world.

He is also well known as a choral trainer and conductor and is permanent conductor of Bishopwearmouth Choral Society and Hexham Abbey Festival Chorus.

In recent years, David has been instrumental in establishing a new chamber music series in Whitley Bay which proved highly successful, attracting artists of international standing.
