Update on re-opening the Old Low Light Heritage Centre – from Centre Director (30 June 2020).

I’m delighted to let you know that following a meeting of the Board of Trustees, it’s  been decided that when we re-open, it will be the whole building – the café, outdoor seating area, heritage gallery, top floor and viewing platform.

Although we won’t be ready to re-open on 4 July, we hope to be able to do so by the end of the month.

Our main priority is to make sure that when we do re-open our doors, we can be confident that we’ve done as much as reasonably possible to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, customers to the café and visitors to our galleries.

It’s likely that initially we’ll operate on reduced hours to allow the extra time needed for cleaning.

As we work on our plan for re-opening, which will take into account the latest national guidance, we’re seeking the views of staff on the measures we’ll be putting in place and we’ll also be consulting with volunteers, members and our regular customers and visitors, so watch out for further updates on how you can make your views known.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
