Service to honour fishermen lost at sea

A service is being held on Sunday 10 May at 2pm for members of the fishing community, their families and friends to honour fishermen from North Shields and beyond who have been lost at sea.

One of many around the country to mark National Fishing Remembrance Day, this will take place at the Fiddler’s Green Fishermen’s Memorial, Clifford’s Fort, North Shields Fish Quay.

We were pleased to see an article by Cultured North East about visitor numbers for the North East’s leading attractions during 2025 which showed that ours had increased by almost 25 per cent – and that we are doing well compared to others.
