See it from their persective … …
Our great Swan Hunter themed summer exhibitions have something for everyone.
Why don’t you bring your small fry to explore our Shipyard Painter’s exhibition and see it from their point of view. Try getting down to their height and see what they see, you never know you may see things differently. Encourage them to look for a painting with boat or ship in it, and then get them to look out of the window and see if they can see one like it in the river.
You can drop into our art workshop on 11 and 24 August to draw and paint with our artists Dennison and Drew from 11.30 – 2.30
Let them take you on a journey
There is no right or wrong way to explore The Shipyard Painters or our Alpha Omega exhibitions. If they want to start in the heritage galley, let them dress up and play. Ask them to see if anyone on our model ferry reminds them of someone you know.
You don’t have to do it all in a day.
We have some great family guided walks throughout the summer. Every Thursday at 11.00 you can meet some real fishermen and discover where they land their catch and mend their nets.
If this doesn’t float your boat, then how about our Shipwrecks and Pirates guided walk on 19 and 24 August with master mariner Martin Kenny.
Take a break and enjoy a cup of our specially roasted Tynemouth Coffee
