Laura Lawson is an artist and poet based in the North of England. Her paintings are influenced by the remote terrain and shorelines of both the North where she grew up and the Scottish Highlands where her family’s heritage lies. Laura loves the medium of paint and often works on paintings for years layering the paint over and over as she seeks to capture and share her deeply personal responses. Her palate uses exaggerated earthy tones combining an emotional response of realism and abstraction. In her latest exhibition she invites the viewer to allow the paintings to evoke their own memories in connection with the land and sea.
The exhibition opens on 14 April and runs until 07 May
