There is a lot of history surrounding old boats; they all have a story to tell. Photographs tend to show them during peaceful times, resting in quiet harbours or on lonely lochs. However, the better part of their time was spent in the pursuit of herring, usually at night. Dynamic boats working in dynamic seas; ring netters shot their nets around our coast, and brought herring to our tables.
In our second talk of the year guest speakers Chris & Fiona Malkin will explore the history, and attempted restoration of one such vessel, Wistaria BA64/Shemaron CN 244.
