North East’s favourite historian turns his attention to river and its fishing heritage.
John Grundy, historian, author and TV presenter, will turn his attention to the history of the River Tyne and its communities in this talk as part of our ‘It Started With A Fish’ exhibition.
In his highly entertaining and philosophical style, John will explore such searching questions such as; –
- ‘When did commercial fishing begin in North Shields?’
- ‘Why did the folks of Shields not get on with the people from Newcastle?’
- ‘Who are the river’s heroes?’
This talk is guaranteed to be funny, full of facts and is perfect for anyone who is passionate about the River Tyne’s communities.
