Sundial Expert Frank Evans lights up a shadowy past

When the Old Low Light was built it featured a splendid sundial on the front of its building.  The purpose of the sundial was to ensure the lights were timed.

This unique sundial remained crucial to the lighting of the Low Light and it’s history is integral to the River Tyne’s maritime safety.

Frank’s talk will explore the connection between sundials and lighthouses as well as explaining the rare nature of the Old Low Light’s sundial.

Normal admission charges apply; £2 adults, under 16’s and Network Members free.
